Sy는 이번 작전이 대통령 반조직범죄위원회(PAOCC) 및 필리핀 국가경찰정보그룹(PNP-IG)과 협력하여 수행되었다고 말했습니다.

김 씨가 체포되기 전에 한국 정부가 우선적으로 고려한 상위 10명의 한국인 수배자 명단에 올랐다는 사실이 알려졌습니다.

이로 인해 서울중앙지방법원은 한국의 범죄 행위를 위반한 사기 혐의로 그에 대한 적극적인 체포 영장을 발부했습니다.

김 씨는 또한 2020년에 발부된 약식 추방 명령의 대상이 되며, 그의 신분 때문에 그를 바람직하지 않은 외국인으로 분류합니다.

OPERATIVES from the Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU) arrested a South Korean national wanted for escaping a jail in Leyte three years ago.

The suspect was identified by FSU chief Rendel Ryan Sy in his report as Gim Sihun, 31. He was arrested along Doña Julia Vargas Ave in Mandaluyong City on Thursday and is currently held at the BI’s holding facility where he shall remain prior to deportation.

Sy said the operation was conducted in coordination with the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the Philippine National Police Intelligence Group (PNP-IG).

The arrest, he added, concluded a three-year manhunt against Gim, following his escape from the custody of the Sub-Provincial jail in Brgy. Loyonsawang, Abuyog, Leyte in 2023.

It was learned that prior to his capture, Gim was listed among the top ten Korean escapees prioritized by the South Korean government.

Owing to this, an active warrant of arrest was issued against him by the Seoul Central District Court for fraud, in violation of the criminal act of Korea.

Gim is also the subject of a summary deportation order issued in 2020, classifying him as an undesirable alien due to his status as a fugitive.
