이민국(BI)은 대규모 사기 및 기타 경제 범죄에 연루된 혐의를 받고 있는 네 명의 한국 남성을 체포했습니다.
체포된 남성 중 두 명인 김주현과 정원기는 대한민국 정부에 의해 도주자로 지목된 후 비아도가 내린 임무 명령의 대상이었습니다.
김 씨와 정 씨는 모두 사기 혐의로 한국에서 수배 중이며, 특정경제범죄 가중처벌 등에 관한 법률 및 대한민국 형법 위반 혐의로 인천지방법원에서 발부하는 체포영장의 대상입니다. 이들의 여권은 이미 만료되어 서류 미비 외국인이 되었습니다.
작전 중에 FSU 요원들은 다른 두 명의 한국 국적자인 고철웅과 하유성도 만났습니다. 고 씨는 국내에 과도하게 체류하고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌고, 하 씨는 비호의적인 이유로 기존에 추방된 사례가 있어 한국 당국에 의해 도주자로 신고되었습니다.
비아도는 범죄에 대한 정부의 광범위한 캠페인의 일환으로 국경 통제 및 집행 능력을 계속 강화하고 있다고 말했습니다.
네 명의 용의자 모두 마닐라로 이송되었으며, 현재 추방 절차가 진행될 때까지 타귀그에 있는 BI 시설에 구금되어 있습니다. 

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested four South Korean men suspected of involvement in large-scale fraud and other economic crimes.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) last October 16 in Barangay Pardo, Cebu City, in coordination with South Korean authorities, the Philippine Navy, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 7.

Two of the arrested men, identified as Kim Joohyun and Jung Won Ki, were the subjects of a mission order issued by Viado after being tagged by the South Korean government as fugitives from justice.

Both Kim and Jung are wanted in South Korea for fraud and are subjects of arrest warrants issued by the Incheon District Court for violations of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes and the Criminal Act of the Republic of Korea. Their passports have already expired, rendering them undocumented aliens.

During the operation, FSU agents also encountered two other Korean nationals, Ko Chulwoong and Ha Yousung. Ko was found to be overstaying in the country, while Ha has an existing deportation case for undesirability and was likewise reported by South Korean authorities as a fugitive.

According to BI-FSU Chief Rendel Ryan Sy, the operation demonstrates the Bureau’s intensified coordination with foreign law enforcement in pursuit of transnational criminals.

“This successful operation reinforces our message that the Philippines will never be a refuge for fugitives,” said Sy. “Through close collaboration with international partners, we ensure that criminals face the consequences of their actions.”

Viado said the Bureau continues to tighten its border control and enforcement capabilities as part of the government’s broader campaign against criminality.

“We are determined to strengthen our enforcement operations and hold accountable those who abuse our country’s openness,” Viado said. “Our mandate is clear — to safeguard the nation from individuals who exploit our borders for unlawful gain.”

All four suspects were flown to Manila and are currently detained at the BI’s facility in Taguig pending deportation proceedings. #
