호놀룰루 총영사관 화장실에서 한인 남성이 여성이 옷을 갈아입는 모습을 촬영하려다 체포됐다.
KITV 보도에 따르면, 호놀룰루 경찰은 최한민(25)씨를 사생활 침해 혐의로 체포했다.
사건은 지난 4일 누우아누 지역에서 발생했으며, 최씨는 여성 화장실 칸에 카메라를 설치해 촬영을 시도한 혐의를 받고 있다. 한 직원이 작은 구멍이 있는 검은 상자를 발견했고, 그 안에 있던 휴대전화가 동료를 촬영 중인 상태였다.  보석금은 10만 달러로 책정됐다.

25-year-old Hanmin Choi pleaded not guilty in court for filming a woman undress in a bathroom stall in Nuuanu.
Choi was accused of filming his coworker in the bathroom at the Consulate General while she was undressed.
Honolulu police arrested him on Oct. 4, 2024 for violation of privacy. This happened shortly after his coworkers found the hidden cell phone camera.
In court yesterday, Choi’s bail was reduced from $100,000 to $40,000. Court records show that he bailed out today.

The man who recorded a woman undressing in the bathroom at the Korean Consulate this past fall was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Thursday for invasion of privacy and his stash of child pornography.
Hanmin Choi, 25, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on June 5, 2025 for events that took place eight months ago. Choi was arrested in Oct. 2024 for filming his coworker in the bathroom. His coworkers found a hidden cellphone camera resulting in the violation of privacy offenses he faced.
Choi was convicted and found guilty of four counts of first-degree violation of privacy charges.
Choi's incarceration includes a second-degree promoting child abuse charge. Days after he was arrested in early October, he was found to have 30 plus images of child pornography. At least one those images were of a minor younger than the age of 12.
