북가주 프리몬트 경찰국에 따르면 한인 진광민(20)씨는 '소셜 데이트 앱'을 통해 만난 여성에게 약을 탄 술을 먹인 뒤 성폭행한 것으로 드러났다. 현재까지 파악된 피해자만 4명이다.
일리노이 대학교에 재학중인 진씨는 부모가 거주하는 북가주 샌라몬을 방문했던 5월부터 8월사이 소셜 데이트 앱을 통해 만난 여성을 대상으로 프리몬트 지역에서 성폭행을 저질렀다고 경찰은 발표했다.
경찰 측은 "피해자는 틴더(Tinder), 스카우트(Scout), 모코스페이스(MocoSpace), 페이스북(Facebook)등의 데이트 앱을 통해 진씨를 만났다"고 밝혔다.



A San Ramon man was arrested last month in Illinois on suspicion of allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting at least four victims and possibly more in the Bay Area, Fremont police said Monday.

Kwangmin Jin, 20, was arrested by Fremont police detectives on Sept. 23 in Champaign, Illinois, with assistance from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign police.

Fremont police said an investigation revealed that Jin arranged meetings with at least four women through social media between May and August of this year.

When he met the victims, he allegedly gave them alcoholic drinks tainted with sedative drugs and then sexually assaulted them, according to police.
