최근 시애틀 지역에서 빈발하고 있는 트럭을 가게로 돌진시켜 문을 박살낸 뒤 현금자동인출기(ATM)를 뜯어가는 신종 절도 범죄의 주범이 한인 청년인 것으로 밝혀졌다.

수사 당국은 최근 시애틀 지역에서 발생한 이같은 트럭 돌진 ATM 절도 사건의 용의자로 스탠리 리와 브랜든 서나를 지난 13일 시애틀 인근 턱윌라의 모텔에서 체포해 17일 특수 절도 등의 혐의로 기소했다고 밝혔다. 이들은 트럭 등을 대형 그로서리나 약국 등으로 돌진시켜 안에 있는 ATM 기를 훔쳐가는 범행을 저질러왔다. 특히 피해자 가운데는 한인 그로서리 운영자들도 일부 포함돼 있는 것으로 파악됐다. 스탠리 리에게는 12만5,000달러의 보석금, 브랜든 서나에게는 15만달러의 보석금이 각각 책정됐다.



Two men, allegedly responsible for nearly 60 smash-and-grab burglaries, were arrested Friday morning.

Seattle Police Department and Bellevue Police Department detectives have been working on this case for a while now.

An official release said two suspects, have been using trucks and other heavy equipment over the past year to burglarize ATMs and cash registers. They apparently hit upwards of 60 businesses in the Seattle area.

The suspects have been identified asStanley Yancy Lee, 31, andBranden Christopher Cerna, 33.

They allegedly took off with thousands in cash and caused tens of thousands in damage.

SWAT teams and other officials served warrants at a Tukwila motel Friday, arresting both suspects and impounding two vehicles.

Both were booked into the King County Jail for burglary, theft, malicious mischief and possession of a stolen vehicle.
