위스콘신주 한인 태권도 관장 데이비드 강(66)이 미성년자 성폭행 혐의로 정식 재판에 넘겨졌다.

위스콘신주에서 태권도장을 운영했던 한인 사범이 미성년 제자를 성폭행한 혐의로 본재판에 넘겨졌다.
밀워키 지역방송 FOX6에 따르면 와우케샤 카운티 법원은 지난 25일 브룩필드에 거주하는 데이비드 강(David Kang·66)에 대한 예비심리를 열고 검찰이 제기한 아동 성폭행 혐의 사건을 본재판에 회부했다.
검찰은 지난 5월 강씨를 자신이 개인 태권도 교습을 하던 미성년 여학생을 상대로 여러 건의 성범죄를 저지른 혐의로 기소했다.
예비심리에서는 리버힐스 경찰국의 숀 도먼 경관이 증인으로 출석해 수사 내용을 설명했다. 도먼 경관은 강씨가 2023년 6월 피해 학생의 개인 태권도 강사로 고용됐으며, 같은 시기 폭스포인트(Fox Point)에서 운영하던 태권도장을 폐업했다고 증언했다. 강씨는 2009년 무장 강도를 추격해 붙잡은 일로 지역 언론의 조명을 받은 바 있다.
경찰에 따르면 강씨는 피해 학생의 자택에서 개인교습을 진행했으며, 피해 학생은 성범죄가 수업을 시작한 직후부터 이뤄졌다고 진술했다. 도먼 경관은 법정에서 피해 학생의 진술을 토대로 “여름방학 기간 수개월 동안 주 3회 개인교습이 진행됐고, 수업 때마다 범행이 여러 차례 반복됐다”며 “이 같은 행위가 3년 동안 계속됐다”고 증언했다.
강씨는 보석금 3만 달러를 내고 석방된 상태이며, 다음 재판은 오는 7월 1일 열릴 예정이다.

A longtime martial arts instructor has been charged with sexually assaulting a child during private lessons over multiple summers in River Hills.

On May 26, Milwaukee County prosecutors charged Brookfield resident David Kang, 66, with three counts of repeated sexual assault of the same child and one count of second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16 years of age.

In total, the charges - all felonies - could amount to a maximum prison sentence of 180 years and a fine of up to $300,000.

The charge of repeated sexual assault of the same child, which includes a modifier for cases where at least 3 violations are present, comes with up to 60 years in prison. The other three counts each come with fines of up to $100,000 and a maximum of 40 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint:

A River Hills police officer met with the child and the child's parents on May 19, 2026. The child told the officer that Kang had sexually assaulted them during private tae kwon do lessons multiple times a week at the child's home during the summers of 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The lessons and abuse occurred again on May 18, 2026. During the meeting with police the following day, the child told the officer that they "could not go through another summer of abuse."

While police were interviewing the child, Kang showed up at the family's home and shot himself outside of the house. He survived the gunshot wound to his chest.

Kang previously operated a taekwondo studio, Kang's Tae Kwon Do, near Port Washington and Brown Deer roads in the Village of Fox Point.

In Wisconsin, state laws require martial arts instructors who teach minors to be licensed through the state as Juvenile Martial Arts Instructors.

There is no record that Kang ever had a license, according to public license records.

An arrest warrant for Kang was issued on May 26.

용의자는 렌델 라이언 시 FSU 국장이 보고서에서 김시훈(31세)으로 확인했습니다. 그는 목요일 만달루용시의 도냐 줄리아 바르가스 애비뉴에서 체포되었으며 현재 BI의 구금 시설에 수감되어 있으며 추방 전에 그곳에 머물 예정입니다.

OPERATIVES from the Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU) arrested a South Korean national wanted for escaping a jail in Leyte three years ago.

The suspect was identified by FSU chief Rendel Ryan Sy in his report as Gim Sihun, 31. He was arrested along Doña Julia Vargas Ave in Mandaluyong City on Thursday and is currently held at the BI’s holding facility where he shall remain prior to deportation.

Sy said the operation was conducted in coordination with the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the Philippine National Police Intelligence Group (PNP-IG).

The arrest, he added, concluded a three-year manhunt against Gim, following his escape from the custody of the Sub-Provincial jail in Brgy. Loyonsawang, Abuyog, Leyte in 2023.

It was learned that prior to his capture, Gim was listed among the top ten Korean escapees prioritized by the South Korean government.

Owing to this, an active warrant of arrest was issued against him by the Seoul Central District Court for fraud, in violation of the criminal act of Korea.

Gim is also the subject of a summary deportation order issued in 2020, classifying him as an undesirable alien due to his status as a fugitive.

A South Korean fugitive wanted by the International Criminal Police Organization and Korean authorities is facing deportation proceedings after being arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI), the agency said on Friday.

According to the BI, 34-year-old Seong Jeonghu was arrested during an entrapment operation last May 14 along 7th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, after authorities received information on his presence in the city. The BI said South Korean authorities requested assistance from the Philippine government after Seong left his home country.

Seong is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Busan District Court in South Korea for alleged violation of the country’s National Sports Promotion Act. An Interpol red notice was likewise issued against him in April 2020,” the BI said in a press release.

Sy said the operation was conducted in coordination with South Korean authorities, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR), and the Department of Justice.

가주 살인사건 2건의 핵심 용의자가 10년 도피 끝에 라오스에서 붙잡혀 미국으로 송환됐다.

오렌지카운티레지스터는 김명진(31.사진)씨가 최근 라오스에서 체포돼 지난주 미국으로 압송됐다고 12일 보도했다. 연방수사국(FBI)과 샌타클라라·오렌지카운티 검찰 등에 따르면 한국 국적자인 김씨는 2016년 샌호세 청부살인 사건과 2018년 웨스트민스터 총격 살인 사건의 핵심 용의자다.

김씨는 LA국제공항(LAX)을 통해 입국한 뒤 오렌지카운티를 거쳐 지난 11일 샌타클라라카운티 구치소로 이송됐다. 그는 샌호세 사건 재판을 먼저 받은 뒤 오렌지카운티로 넘겨져 웨스트민스터 사건 재판도 받을 예정이다.

샌호세 사건은 2016년 6월 발생했다. 검찰은 김씨가 특정 인물을 제거하기 위해 청부살인을 의뢰했으나 범인이 대상을 착각해 저스틴 트랜(당시 26세)을 살해한 것으로 보고 있다. 피해자는 사건과 무관한 인물이었다.

경찰은 2020년 공범 3명을 검거하고 김씨에 대해서도 살인·살인미수·살인공모 혐의로 체포영장을 발부했다. 공범 중 1명은 현재 주 교도소에 수감 중이다. 김씨는 또 2018년 9월 웨스트민스터의 한 CVS 주차장에서 금전 문제로 다투다 친구인 크리스토퍼 김(당시 26세)씨를 총으로 살해한 혐의도 받고 있다. 그는 피해자의 여자친구가 보는 앞에서 총 6발을 쏜 뒤 달아났다는 게 경찰의 설명이다.

북가주 콘트라코스타카운티 셰리프국에서 36년간 근속해온 한인 경관이 절도와 횡령 등 중범죄 혐의로 체포됐다.
콘트라코스타카운티 셰리프국은 지난 16일 증거물 관리실에서 발생한 절도 사건을 수사하던 중, 해당 셰리프국 소속 경관으로 근무해온 케빈 이(62·사진)씨를 용의자로 특정했다고 밝혔다. 셰리프국은 이씨의 자택을 압수수색하고 이날 이씨를 전격 체포했다. 이씨는 절도 및 장물 취득, 횡령, 공격용 무기 소지 등의 혐의로 구치소에 수감됐다. 이씨의 보석금은 16만 달러로 책정됐다. 지난 1990년 셰리프국에 입사한 이씨는 지난 2012년부터 압수품과 증거물 관리 업무를 담당하는 부서에서 근무해온 것으로 파악됐다.

The Contra Costa County sheriff’s department announced Tuesday night that it has arrested a longtime sheriff’s deputy on felony charges related to thefts at its property and evidence offices in Concord.

The department said in a Facebook post that Martinez resident Kevin Lee, 62, of Martinez is being held on $160,000 bail and facing four felony charges: burglary, receiving stolen property, embezzlement, and possession of an assault weapon.

The property services department is the division that handles the intake, cataloging, storage and disposal of property and evidence.

Lee joined the sheriff’s office in May 1990 as a deputy sheriff and later became a temporary duty sheriff (paid on a per-diem basis) in 2012, when he was assigned to the property unit, the department said.

The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office will ask the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) to conduct an independent audit of the property unit.

POST gets involved in such cases because evidence tampering can compromise active criminal cases and lead to overturned convictions.

“All Sheriff’s Office employees are held to the highest standards and any employee who is involved in criminal conduct will be held accountable,” said Contra Costa Sheriff David Livingston in the statement. “This matter was taken seriously, and a thorough investigation was immediately launched once we learned about it.”

정씨는 지난해 6월 미시간대 대학원생 전용 기숙사인 멍거 기숙사에서 샤워 중이던 다른 여학생을 몰래 촬영하다 적발됐다. 피해 여성은 샤워를 마치고 나오던 중 천장 근처 작은 창문에 휴대전화가 테이프로 부착돼 있는 것을 발견했다. 피해 여성은 수상한 점을 인지한 뒤 공용 화장실로 향했고, 얼마 후 그곳에서 검은색 덕트테이프가 붙은 휴대전화와 접이식 발판을 들고 있던 정씨를 발견했다. 여성은 정씨에게 항의했고, 그의 휴대전화를 확인하는 과정에서 자신의 방 내부를 촬영한 것으로 보이는 여러 영상을 발견한 것으로 알려졌다. 정씨는 이와 별도로 아동 성착취물 소지 및 컴퓨터를 범죄에 이용한 혐의도 받고 있다. 아울러 미시간대에 재학했던 또 다른 학생 역시 유사한 혐의로 재판에 넘겨졌다. 경찰은 미시간대가 위치한 앤아버 지역의 한 IP 주소가 아동 성착취물에 접근하고 있다는 제보를 받고 수사에 착수했다.

Two former University of Michigan students have been charged in two separate cases related to sexual crimes.

James Hyunbin Jung, 26, was charged with first-degree home invasion and capturing an image of an unclothed person after he was caught filming another student in June 2025 at Munger Graduate Residence, 540 Thompson St., according to a swear-to hearing held before 14A District Magistrate Odetalla M. Odetalla. He is set to have a preliminary examination May 12, Washtenaw County court records show.

The woman had been exiting the shower when she saw a phone taped to a small window near the ceiling. She left her room and went into the communal bathroom, where she found Jung. Jung was holding a phone with black duct tape on it and a collapsible footstool, according to court records.

She confronted Jung and went through his phone, where she found multiple videos that looked into her apartment. He is also facing charges of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime, which were added in September 2025. He was arraigned June of that year. Jung was pursuing a Master of Science in Data Science at the University of Michigan as recently as end of March but has since unenrolled from the school, a spokesperson for the university confirmed.

앨라배마주 워커카운티에서 한국 국적의 20대 남성이 미성년자 대상 성범죄 혐의로 체포됐다.

워커카운티 셰리프국에 따르면 올해 24세 고현수(Hyeonsoo Ko) 씨는 최소 세 차례 워커카운티를 방문해 미성년자들과 접촉한 것으로 조사됐다.

경찰은 온라인 접촉 이후 실제 만남이 이뤄진 것으로 보고 수사를 진행 중이다.

고 씨는 미성년자 성범죄 목적 이동 혐의 3건, 미성년자 유인 혐의 1건, 2급 강간 혐의 2건, 2급 성적 학대 혐의 2건이 적용됐다.

보석금은 25만 달러로 책정됐다.

워커카운티 셰리프국은 페이스북을 통해 "아동 성범죄자들은 아이들을 표적으로 삼기 위해 전 세계를 돌아다니기도 한다"며 " 부모들에게 자녀의 온라인 활동을 주의 깊게 살핀 뒤 의심스러운 점이 있으면 즉시 경찰에 신고할 것"을 당부했다.

광주 도심 한복판에서 일면식 없는 여고생을 흉기로 살해한 20대 남성의 신상이 SNS(사회관계망서비스)를 통해 빠르게 퍼지고 있다.

9일 유튜브와 인스타그램 등 주요 SNS 플랫폼에는 살인 및 살인미수 혐의로 구속된 장모(24) 씨의 이름과 학창 시절 모습, 최근 촬영된 프로필 사진 등이 포함된 게시물이 잇따라 올라오고 있다.

해당 게시글에는 확인되지 않은 장씨 가족의 직업 등 사적인 정보까지 포함된 상태다. 누리꾼들은 특히 전날 진행된 신상정보 공개 절차에서 장씨가 동의 의사를 밝히지 않았다는 점을 지적하며 비판적인 반응을 쏟아내고 있다.

광주경찰청은 전날 신상정보공개심의위원회를 소집해 장씨의 신상 정보를 대중에 알리기로 결정했다. 위원회는 ▲범행의 잔인성 ▲피해의 중대성 ▲증거의 충분성 ▲국민의 알 권리 및 공공의 이익 등 공개를 위한 법률적 요건을 충족한다고 판단했다.

경찰은 본인 동의가 없는 점을 고려해 유예 기간을 거친 뒤 정보를 공개할 예정이다. 장씨의 성명과 나이, 머그샷 등 상세 정보는 오는 14일 오전 9시부터 30일간 광주경찰청 홈페이지에 게시된다.

앞서 장씨는 어린이날이었던 지난 5일 0시 10분께 광주 광산구 소재 한 고등학교 인근 도로에서 귀가하던 17세 여고생 A양을 흉기로 수차례 찔러 살해했다. 또한 현장에서 비명을 듣고 달려온 남고생 B군까지 살해하려다 미수에 그친 혐의도 받는다.

범행 후 현장을 벗어났던 장씨는 사건 발생 약 11시간 만에 자신의 주거지 근처에서 경찰에 붙잡혔으며, 현재는 구속된 상태에서 경찰 조사를 받고 있다.

미 동부 한인 밀집 지역을 거점으로 전국에 걸쳐 대규모 마약 유통 조직을 운영한 한인 총책과 공범 등 4명이 전격 체포돼 충격을 주고 있다.
뉴저지주 검찰은 팰리세이즈팍에 거주하는 한인 남성 광 주(40)씨를 1급 마약 밀매 조직 운영, 각종 마약 유통 목적 소지, 통제약물(CDS) 생산시설 운영, 돈세탁, 총기 불법 소지 등의 혐의로 지난 15일 체포했다고 29일 밝혔다.
검찰에 따르면 주씨는 코카인 등 대규모 마약 유통을 조직하고 거액의 현금을 취급한 혐의를 받고 있으며, 현재 버겐카운티 구치소에 수감 중이다. 유죄가 인정될 경우 최소 25년형에서 최대 무기징역까지 선고될 수 있다. 이와 함께 팰리세이즈팍의 한인 여성 해나 오(29)씨, 잉글우드 클립스의 성 손(45)씨, 포트리의 입양인 출신 한인 남성 벤자민 오저(41)씨 등 3명도 마약 운반 및 보관, 유통 가담 혐의로 같은 날 체포됐다. 이들 역시 미 시민권자로 구치소에 수감됐다가 이후 불구속 상태로 재판을 받게 됐다.

검찰에 따르면 이번 사건은 지난 1월부터 뉴저지 주경찰 마약단속반이 진행한 장기 추적 수사 끝에 적발됐다. 지난 1월14일 팰리세이즈팍에서 총책 주씨가 한 남성에게 검은색 더플백을 전달하는 장면이 포착됐고, 해당 차량이 패터슨으로 이동한 뒤 적법한 수색 절차를 통해 더플백에서 코카인 9kg이 발견돼 압수됐다.
이후 수사 과정에서 주씨가 뉴욕 퀸즈에서도 추가 거래를 진행한 정황이 드러났으며, 주요 공범 중 한 명인 오저씨는 지난 2월 6일 퀸즈에서 차량을 운전하다 체포됐다.
당시 차량에서는 코카인 14kg이 추가로 발견된 것으로 확인됐다. 또 주씨가 공범 손씨에게 코카인 약 33kg이 담긴 것으로 추정되는 여행가방을 전달한 정황도 조사됐다.
당국은 공범들의 은닉처를 압수수색한 결과 코카인 총 57kg을 비롯해 케타민, 엑스터시), 옥시코돈, 자낙스, 실로시빈(환각버섯),‘핑크 코카인’, 대마초 등 다양한 마약류를 대거 확보했다고 밝혔다. 이 밖에도 권총 2정과 소총 1정, 대용량 탄창 등 총기류와 함께 현금 약 52만 달러도 압수됐다.
검찰은 이들 조직이 뉴저지를 중심으로 활동하면서도 뉴욕 등 타주까지 연계된 전국 단위 유통망을 운영해 온 것으로 보고 있다. 뉴저지주 검찰과 주 경찰, 연방 마약단속국(DEA) 등 다수의 법집행기관이 공조 수사에 참여해 조직 전반을 적발한 것으로 전해졌다.
제니퍼 대븐포트 뉴저지주 검찰총장은 “불법 마약 거래와 무기 소지는 지역사회 안전을 심각하게 위협하는 범죄”라며 “법집행기관은 이 같은 범죄 조직을 끝까지 추적해 해체할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

A 40-year-old Palisades Park man was arrested and charged with running a major cocaine operation from his home.

Following a three month investigation, the DEA and New Jersey State Police arrested Kwang Joo of and three others for allegedly manufacturing and selling drugs in New Jersey and New York.

The state attorney general says two locations in Palisades Park were raided. One was an apartment at the Meadowview Estates complex and the other was Joo's home on Third Street.

"Millions of dollars of drugs, including cocaine, ketamine, MDMA and $520,000 in cash was seized," said state Attorney General Jennifer Davenport.

"As to Kwang Joo, he’s charged with being the leader of a narcotics trafficking network. If convicted of this crime, he faces 25 years to life in state prison," said the director of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice Theresa Hilton.

Kwang Joo is also charged with money laundering, drug possession and weapons possession.

뉴욕주의 한 스파에서 50대 한인 여성이 성매매 혐의로 체포됐다.
뉴욕주 범죄수사국(BCI)은 더치스카운티 라그레인지 지역 ‘뉴 강 스파(New Kang Spa)’ 업주 최봉선(59)씨를 지난달 30일 체포해 무허가 영업과 성매매 혐의로 기소했다고 밝혔다.
수사 당국은 해당 업소에서 성매매가 이뤄진다는 주민 신고를 받고 수사에 착수한 것으로 전해졌다. 구체적인 범행 내용은 공개되지 않았다. 최씨는 오는 19일 라그레인지 타운 법원에 출두할 예정이다.

New York State Police confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, though it occurred last week.

According to New York State Police, troopers began an investigation into New Kang Spa, located at 1151 Route 55 in the town of LaGrange, in March because residents complained about "prostitution" at the business.

70대 한인 남성이 유령 회사를 만들어 1250만 달러 규모의 연방 재무부 발급 수표를 가로채 현금화하려 한 혐의로 체포됐다.
뉴저지 버겐카운티 검찰은 팰리세이즈파크에 사는 소니 이(70·사진)씨가 자금세탁 미수, 사기 절도 미수, 기업 임원 사칭 등의 혐의로 지난 5일 체포됐다고 밝혔다.
검찰에 따르면 이씨는 지난해 7월 허위 조직도와 위조 사업 서류를 만들어 자신이 실제 기업 대표인 것처럼 꾸민 뒤, 회사 명의로 은행 계좌를 개설했다. 이후 해당 회사 앞으로 발행된 1251만5828달러30센트 규모의 연방 재무부 수표를 가로채 계좌에 입금하려 한 혐의를 받고 있다.
이번 수사는 지난해 11월 국세청 범죄수사국 뉴왁 지부에 제기된 제보로 시작됐다. 검찰은 장기간 수사 끝에 이씨의 자택을 압수수색해 휴대전화와 노트북, 태블릿 등을 확보했다. 버겐카운티 검찰은 이 회사에 어떤 명목으로 수표가 발급됐는지는 밝히지 않았다.

A 70-year-old repeat offender from Palisades Park was charged with trying to cash a $12.5 million U.S. Treasury check intended for a local company by pretending to be its president.

Sonny Lee "had no affiliation with the company but produced forged business documents for the purpose of establishing a business bank account in [its] name," Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

He then intercepted the $12,515,828.30 treasury check, Musella said.

Records show Lee allegedly tried to cash the check last July.

He was already known to authorities before then. Lee was living in Old Tappan when the prosecutor's office charged him with swindling a 92-year-old woman from Greenwich, CT out of more than $1 million in 2013 by claiming it was for a Christian charity,

He also was charged with an unidentified theft by deception from August 2023. That case was resolved last March, records show.

A member of the Internal Revenue Service's Criminal Investigation field office in Newark Field Office alerted Musella's Financial Crimes Unit to the current case this past November.

A lengthy investigation led to charges against Lee of attempted money laundering, attempted theft by deception and impersonation of a corporate officer.

Lee -- who's listed in criminal records as a U.S. citizen -- was arrested yesterday (Tues., May 6th). He remained held in Bergen County's jail today pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

용의자는 범행 직후 도주했으나 인근 H마트 앞에서 경찰에 붙잡혔다.
지역 매체 ABC10 방송에 따르면 총격 용의자는 한성호(69)씨로 한인으로 추정된다. 현재까지 피해자 5명의 신원은 확인되지 않았다.

지난 5일 텍사스주 캐럴턴 한인타운에서 2명을 숨지게 하고 3명을 다치게 한 연쇄 총격 사건과 관련해, 용의자의 아내가 범행을 도운 혐의로 경찰에 전격 체포됐다.

Two people are dead and three have been injured after a shooting during a business meeting at a shopping center in Texas on Tuesday, May 5.

Police in Carrollton, Texas, responded to reports of a shooting just before 10 a.m. local time at the K Towne Plaza on Highway 121, Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo said in a press conference. The suspect was identified as Seung Han Ho, 69, Arredondo said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found multiple people with gunshot wounds, Arredondo said.

Police found four victims at the shopping center, one was a confirmed deceased male, police said in a press release. One female and two males were transported to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition, police said.

During the investigation, police responded to a reported second shooting at a nearby apartment about an hour later. One deceased male was found inside the apartment. During their investigation, police discovered the second shooting was done by the same suspect.

The victims were meeting with the suspect for a “business purpose,” Arredondo said, adding that this was “not a random act of gunfire.” No other details on the meeting were provided.

"It was a known business relationship. We are still working through trying to identify his causes," Arredondo said.

Ho later confessed to shooting all five victims, police said in a press release. The suspect allegedly told police he "was angry at the victims due to financial disagreements related to their business dealings," police said.

플로리다에서 시속 110마일로 질주하며 경찰을 피해 달아난 20대 한인 남성이 체포됐다.
지역매체 WFTV9은 임선철(27)씨가 경찰의 정지 명령을 무시하고 도주한 혐의와 위험 과속 혐의로 체포됐다고 24일 보도했다.
세미놀카운티 셰리프국에 따르면 사건은 지난 24일 플로리다 레이크 메리에서 시작됐다. 당시 레이크 메리 경찰국 소속 경관이 교통 단속을 위해 임씨 차량을 정차시키려 했지만 임씨가 이에 응하지 않고 달아난 것으로 전해졌다.
수사 당국은 임씨가 제한속도 65마일 구간에서 시속 약 110마일로 운전한 것으로 보고 있다. 임씨는 이후 인근 샌퍼드에서 체포됐다. 임씨는 조사에서 경찰 사이렌 소리를 듣지 못했고 비상등도 보지 못했다고 주장했다. 차량 거울이 제대로 맞춰져 있지 않았고 음악 소리가 너무 컸다는 이유를 든 것으로 전해졌다.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sungchul Lim, 27, was arrested in Sanford following a high-speed chase that started in Lake Mary.

According to the report obtained by Channel 9, Lim is believed to have been driving at 110 mph in a 65 mph zone and tried to avoid a Lake Mary Police officer. Lim is now facing charges of fleeing from law enforcement and speeding excessively.

Detectives say Lim claimed he did not hear the sirens or notice the emergency lights because the mirrors were not positioned correctly for him, and the music in the vehicle was too loud.

Lim was detained with a bond set at $5,500.

한인 여성이 카지노에서 소란을 벌이다 경찰을 폭행해 체포됐다. 데스플레인스 경찰국은 지난달 22일 오전 3시 35분쯤 데스플레인스 리버스 카지노에서 시카고 거주 박민정(36·사진)씨가 술에 취한 상태로 퇴장 요구에 불응하고 있다는 신고가 접수돼 출동했다고 밝혔다.

당시 남편은 칩을 현금으로 교환한 뒤 경찰 안내에 따라 출구로 이동했지만, 박씨는 출구 앞에서 고성을 지르며 퇴장을 거부했다. 경찰의 반복된 경고에도 상황은 진정되지 않았다.

이후 건물 밖으로 이동한 뒤에도 박씨는 경찰관의 복부를 주먹으로 때리는 등 폭행을 가했다. 또 다른 경찰관을 발로 차는 등 체포 과정에서도 거세게 저항했으며, 순찰차에 탑승한 이후에도 난동을 이어간 것으로 조사됐다.

박씨는 경찰관 폭행 2건과 체포에 저항한 혐의로 기소됐다.

DES PLAINES, IL — A Chicago woman was arrested last week for punching a police officer in the stomach, and kicking another, after being kicked out of the Rivers Casino. Minjoung Park, 36, of the 300 block of E. Wacker Road, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery to police and one count of resisting arrest.

According to Des Plaines police, the incident occurred at 3:35 a.m. April 22, at 3000 S. River Road. Officers had responded the property for a report of an intoxicated woman refusing to leave the casino. Police said after Park's husband cashed out his chips, both were escorted toward the exit, where the accused repeatedly stopped, yelled, and refused to leave despite warnings.

Outside the entrance, Park approached an officer and punched him in the stomach. When officers attempted to take her into custody, Park resisted and kicked a second officer, according to police. She continued resisting while being placed into a squad vehicle.

Moon Hayoung, 40, a South Korean fugitive, was arrested by the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) on February 26 in Barangay Palamis, Alaminos City, Pangasinan. He is accused of masterminding a $840,000 voice phishing scam in South Korea and evading authorities by posing as a Filipino citizen.

BI officials said Moon operated the scheme starting January 2017, with members posing as representatives of a major Korean bank to defraud victims. Moon was identified as the ringleader, funding the operation, organizing the syndicate, and setting up facilities used for the scam.

Authorities discovered that Moon was carrying a fraudulent Philippine passport under the name Jonathan Martinez Park and reportedly owned several resort properties in Batangas and Pangasinan.

Moon is the subject of an Interpol Red Notice issued following an arrest warrant from the Suwon District Court in South Korea for fraud under Article 347(1) of Korea’s Criminal Act.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado warned that foreigners using false identities to evade arrest would face legal consequences. Moon will remain detained at the BI warden facility pending deportation proceedings.

The Bureau of Immigration announced on Sunday the arrest of an undocumented and overstaying Korean national in Angeles City.

The agency identified the suspect as Park Soonho, a 43, a South Korean national.

On March 18, 2016, BI operatives conducted a surveillance at the vicinity of Argentina St. in Barangay Pampang, where the subject was spotted outside his residence receiving a delivery.

When approached by authorities, Park voluntarily confirmed his identity.

The foreign national failed to present a valid passport and Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card (ACR I-Card), rendering him undocumented.

The BI also confirmed that Park had exceeded in his authorized period of stay in the country.

The Korean was later transported to the BI Main Office for booking and documentation.

이 남성은 한국에서 횡령 혐의로 수배 중이던 인물로, 약 2년간 미주 지역에서 불법 체류 신분으로 도피 생활을 해온 것으로 드러났다.

이민세관단속국(ICE)에 따르면 지난 20일 부에나파크 지역에서 한국인 조보현(Bohyun Cho.사진)씨가 체포됐다. 조씨는 한국에서 횡령 혐의로 체포영장이 발부된 상태였다.

지난주 모튼 그로브에서 발생한 70대 한인 여성 피살 사건 <본지 6월30일자, 7월1일자 1면 보도> 의 용의자는 한인 남편으로 밝혀졌다.
이번 사건을 수사중인 모튼 그로브 경찰은 1일 보도자료를 내고 김 모(71)씨 살해 용의자로 남편 김 모(74)씨를 지목했다. 남편 김 씨는 1급 살인혐의를 받고 있다.
남편 김 씨는 지난 6월 27일 오후 10시20분쯤 5500번지대 매디슨길에 위치한 자신의 집으로 출동한 경찰에 의해 발견됐다. 당시 남편 김 씨는 의식을 잃고 있었고 곧 인근 병원으로 후송됐다. 부인 김 씨 역시 의식을 잃은 채 경찰에 의해 발견됐지만 현장에서 사망했다. 아내 김 씨의 사인은 여러발의 총상이라고 쿡카운티 검시소가 밝혔다.
경찰은 병원으로 후송된 남편 김 씨에 대한 조사를 벌여 살인 혐의를 적용했다. 경찰은 남편 김 씨 사진도 이날 함께 공개했다. 사진을 보면 김 씨는 큰 부상을 입은 흔적은 보이지 않는다.

A Morton Grove man was charged with first-degree murder late Monday after allegedly fatally shooting his wife and shooting himself in a domestic disturbance Friday.

Morton Grove police say they found both husband and wife Howard and Chung Kim unresponsive, both suffering gun shot wounds at their home in the 5500 block of Madison Street near Gross Point Road, Lincoln Avenue and the Edens Expressway (I-94) Friday.

Mrs. Chung Kim, 71, was pronounced dead at the scene. Howard Kim, 74, was transported to Lutheran General Hospital for treatment, Morton Grove Police Cmdr. Paul Yaras said.

A court date has not been set as Mr. Kim is still recovering from his wounds, Yaras said.

Yaras said, as this was a domestic incident there is no danger to the community.

The investigation will be handled by the North regional Major Crimes Task Force (NORTAF), a group made of officers from 12 north suburban police departments including Niles, Morton Grove, Glenview, Wheeling and others that Niles Deputy Police Chief of Investigations Dennis McEnerney commands.
