29일 버겐카운티 검찰에 따르면 팰리세이즈파크 브로드애브뉴에 있는 신라이발관 업주 최영환씨(72)가 정식 자격증 없이 불법으로 고객에게 레이저 시술을 하다 상처를 입힌 혐의로 체포됐다.
검찰은 두 명 이상의 피해자들로부터 신고를 받은 뒤 수사를 벌여 지난 25일 최씨를 체포했다. 최씨는 체포된 뒤 버겐카운티 교도소에 수감됐다가 보석금을 내고 일단 풀려났다.



A New Jersey man was recently arrested on charges of aggravated assault and practicing medicine without a license after a woman was reportedly left with facial scars following a botched laser surgery.

The woman, who has not been identified, told officials with the Palisades Park Police Department earlier this month that barbershop owner Young Hwan Choi, 72, performed laser surgery on her face in November 2017. The procedure allegedly caused the woman “significant bodily injury,” which includes scars on both her face and chin, according to a statement from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Choi was arrested on Jan. 25 after officials with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Palisades Park Police Department conducted an investigation into the woman’s complaint. The investigation revealed that Choi is not a doctor — meaning it’s illegal for him to practice medicine or surgery.
