페르디난드 R. 마르코스 주니어 대통령이 다국적 범죄에 대한 캠페인을 강화하고 탈주범들이 법의 심판을 받도록 하겠다는 확고한 지시를 인용하여, 이민국(BI)은 올해 초 정부 구금에서 면제된 한국 국적자를 성공적으로 재체포했습니다.
렌델 라이언 시 FSU 소장이 이끄는 BI의 도망자 수색대(FSU) 요원들과 정보 부서-특수 대응팀(ID-SRT) 요원들은 2월 26일 저녁 파라냐크시 바랑가이 탐보의 디오스다도 마카파갈 대로를 따라 기관 간 합동 수색 작전을 수행했습니다.
이 작전으로 인해 32세의 한국 국적의 이진규가 다시 체포되었습니다. 이진규는 약물 밀수 혐의로 인터폴 적색수배 명령을 받고 있습니다.

이 씨는 문틴루파의 BI 워든 시설에서 실종된 1월 1일부터 도주 중이었습니다. 정보 보고서에 따르면 당국을 피하기 위해 마닐라에서 바기오 및 기타 인근 지역으로 이동한 것으로 밝혀졌습니다.
그의 동료 수감자인 양희준은 집중 추적 작전 끝에 1월 14일에 다시 체포되었습니다.

체포 과정에서 요원들은 공공장소에서 이 씨의 이동 중 감시 및 호위 역할을 한 또 다른 한국 국적의 인재상(41세) 씨도 만났습니다. 그는 유효한 여권이나 출입국 서류를 제시하지 않아 즉시 구금되었습니다.

조엘 앤서니 비아도 BI 커미셔너는 재체포에 성공한 후 강력한 경고를 보냈습니다.

"우리 법을 훼손하고 시스템을 악용하는 도망자는 이 나라에서 안전을 찾지 못할 것입니다. 그가 한 일은 국에 대한 직접적인 도전이었으며, 우리는 단호하게 대응했습니다. 우리는 공공 안전과 국가 안보를 위협하는 외국인을 추적하고 체포하며 제거할 것입니다."라고 비아도는 말했습니다.

위원장은 FSU, ID-SRT, 그리고 한국 당국, 국가수사국을 포함한 협력 기관들을 칭찬했습니다정보 작전 부서, DICT-사이버 범죄 조사 및 조정 센터, 그리고 정부 정보 부대는 수색을 위한 협력적인 노력을 기울이고 있습니다.

이 씨와 인 씨는 추방 혐의를 받는 동안 일시적으로 NBI의 구금 상태에 머물러 있습니다.

한편, BI는 니노이 아키노 국제공항 제1터미널에서 아시아나항공 비행기를 타고 출발한 한국 국적의 나익현(28세) 씨의 추방 소식을 전했습니다.

나 씨는 기만적인 투자 계획에 연루된 혐의로 한국에서 수배 중입니다. 당국은 나 씨가 동료 한국인들을 속여 존재하지 않는 계좌에 투자하도록 유도하고 동료들과 함께 개인적인 이익을 위해 자금을 인출했다고 밝혔습니다.

나 씨는 앞서 2023년 5월 31일 클락 국제공항에서 위조 필리핀 여권을 사용해 출국하려다 BI에 체포된 바 있습니다. #.

Citing President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s firm directive to intensify the campaign against transnational crime and ensure that fugitives are brought to justice, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) successfully re-arrested a Korean national who absconded from government custody earlier this year.

Operatives of the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU), led by FSU Chief Rendel Ryan Sy, together with agents from the Intelligence Division–Special Response Team (ID-SRT), conducted a coordinated inter-agency manhunt operation on the evening of February 26 along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

The operation resulted in the re-arrest of 32-year-old Korean national Lee Jingyu, who is the subject of a Summary Deportation Order for undesirability and is listed under an Interpol Red Notice for drug smuggling.

Lee had been on the run since January 1, when he disappeared from the BI Warden Facility in Muntinlupa. Intelligence reports revealed his movements from Manila to Baguio and other nearby areas to evade authorities.

His fellow detainee, Yang Heejun, was re-apprehended on January 14 following intensive tracking operations.

During the arrest, operatives also encountered another Korean national, In Jaesang, 41, who was found acting as a lookout and escort during Lee’s movements in public areas. He failed to present a valid passport or any immigration documents, thus, he was immediately taken into custody.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado issued a strong warning following the successful re-arrest.

“No fugitive who undermines our laws and abuses our systems will find safety in this country. What he did was a direct challenge to the Bureau—and we have answered it decisively. We will pursue, arrest, and remove any foreign national who threatens public safety and national security,” Viado said.

The Commissioner commended the FSU, ID-SRT, and partner agencies, including the Korean authorities, the National Bureau of Investigation–Intelligence Operations Division, the DICT–Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, and government intelligence forces, for their coordinated efforts in the manhunt.

Lee and In are temporarily remain in the custody of the NBI while they face their deportation charges.

Meanwhile, the BI reported the deportation of Korean national Na Ikhyeon, 28, who departed on board an Asiana Airlines flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

Na is wanted in Korea for his alleged involvement in deceptive investment schemes. Authorities said he misled fellow Koreans into investing in non-existent accounts and, together with his associates, withdrew the funds for personal gain.

Na was previously arrested by the BI on May 31, 2023, at Clark International Airport after attempting to depart using a counterfeit Philippine passport. #
